FableQuest

FABLEQUEST / THE INDIE GAME DISCOVERY JOURNAL

Between the players and the makers.

FableQuest is a place for discovering games, independent games above all: the ones made by small teams and solo makers. Familiar names and unfamiliar discoveries alike, introduced through what makes them interesting to play.

What the name means.

Fable
Every game has a fable: not only the story on screen, but why it plays the way it does, who made it and what they hoped for. That is the story we want to tell.
Quest
Finding it is the quest. Each day we choose one indie game and stamp it in the quest book, a record of the journey.
Legend
Every map has a legend. Wonder, pulse, systems, voices, quiet and company: six mood marks are the legend of our map. And we hope some of these small games become someone's legend.

On X, a short spark of curiosity. Here, reasons to choose, comparisons, makers and sources you can check. Our interactive craft notebook is a side door for readers curious about how games feel.

How we select and verify.

Popularity and scores are not selection reasons on their own. We ask what is interesting to do, who might enjoy it, and what to check before choosing. The current game files are editorial selections based on official materials, not hands-on reviews.

We prioritise developers, publishers and platform documentation, with source links and check dates. News uses announcement dates; schedule notes identify their check date. We do not invent prices, free claims or event participation, or recast old announcements as new releases. Updates are manually edited, not automatic.

Credit the work and its makers.

Game images come from official media resources, with provenance and rights holders recorded. Each game file credits and links its media source. Craft-note diagrams and demos are original and distinguish their inspiration from our own experiment.

The ordering is editorial, not a popularity ranking. This edition contains no advertising, sponsorship or affiliate links.

Privacy and the beta.

No ads, analytics or third-party embeds. Your theme and saved games stay in your browser and are not sent to our server. The host processes connection information to deliver pages. External sites apply their own policies when you follow a link.

This is a public beta. Independent Japanese editorial review and reader testing are pending. Independent verification of the source for craft note 001 also remains pending and is disclosed in that article.
